In order to obtain funds for your business, lenders will require to see your business plan. The business plan is a document which contains specific parts, specific pieces of information about your individual business, needed to assist the lender in determining whether or not to give you the loan.  Anyone can download a business plan template from the Internet and fill in the blanks.  But filling in those blanks to fit the specifics of your business isn't always an easy task. 

The Women's Venture Fund is in the process of developing a workshop series especially designed to help you understand each of the important elements of the business plan and land that loan! The leader of the course will provide significant feedback for your specific business. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to actively participate and get your questions answered.

What you will gain:

• Regarding your own business, strategic planning, operational planning, financial statements and projections
• How to make your plan useful for future implementation
• Test out your ideas
• Practice presentations to a lender

As a participant, you must bring to the workshop a clear understanding of your business concept. It is also recommended that you have a basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Your input on your particular business will be essential. This will come in the form of a significant amount of “homework.”
